Jackie Birdsell and Brian Dow celebrated the announcement of their engagement with family and friends at a party hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Trey Pinner in Montecito.
 
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Deborah Pinner and Phil Birdsell both of Camarillo. Jackie is a 1996 graduate of Camarillo High School and a 2000 graduate of Northern Arizona University. She is employed as a chemist at FGL Environmental in Santa Paula.

The-groom-to-be is the son of Carol and Rick Dow of Camarillo. Brian is a 1996 graduate of Camarillo High School and a 2001 graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is employed as a geologist at Tetra Tech Inc. in Santa Barbara.

The couple plan to marry in August 2005, at El Capitan State Beach.
